For Marcos López, his transfer to Feyenoord is a dream come true. The 22-year-old left back was officially presented on Monday by the Rotterdam team, who reportedly took him over from San José Earthquakes for just over one million. López signed a contract until mid-2026.

“I am a player who gives everything on the field”, the left back says on the club channels of Feyenoord. “I am a fast player and someone with good technique. Of course I still have to show that on the field here. At Sporting Cristal I was left winger and I was involved in goals and assists. So I’m happy to join the attack. And defensively I have become much better.”

It took a while until López realized that Feyenoord was specifically in the market for him. “When I heard the news that Feyenoord wanted me, I almost cried,” he says. “I was very happy. I came home after training and it was an incredible moment. I was so happy that I couldn’t sleep until “It was all done. I have to admit that. I am proud to represent this club.”

“Feyenoord is one of the biggest clubs in the Netherlands and it represents a big step in my football career,” continues López. “We also play European football, that’s what you dream of as a South American footballer. That was always a dream of mine anyway. The twenty-time Peruvian international has no problem sharing his ambitions. “First of all, I want to become a permanent member of the team. And in Europe, reaching the Champions League is a priority. We will fight for that.”
