Vitesse and Sparta Rotterdam are closely monitoring Shurandy Sambo’s situation, know Eindhovens Dagblad. The defender does not have to count on many playing minutes at PSV and has been told by the club that he may be temporarily rented out. The only twenty-year-old Sambo benefits from playing time and has set his sights on a club from the Eredivisie.

Sambo made his debut in the 2020/21 season in the last round of the Eredivisie in the first team of PSV against FC Utrecht (1-1). Fifteen minutes before the end, the right back came in for Armando Obispo. Since then, the counter has been stuck on that one duel in the main squad of the Eindhoven team, since fate struck last season after the first round of Jong PSV in the Kitchen Champion Division. Due to a cruciate ligament injury during a training, Sambo had to wait almost a year for rehabilitation.

It was the second time that the PSV defender was confronted with a cruciate ligament injury. Four years ago, the same injury also meant that he had to face a long rehabilitation. However, PSV has expressed its confidence in Sambo by signing him for two more years until mid-2024. In preparation, the right back made playing minutes against Arminia Bielefeld, Villarreal and FC Eindhoven. However, there is not much prospect of playing time for the promise.

PSV has attracted Ki-Jana Hoever for the right-back position, while Mauro Júnior caused a furore as right-wing defender last season. Ruud van Nistelrooij also has Phillipp Mwene up his sleeve. Vitesse and Sparta have expressed their interest in Sambo for that reason, although it is not known how specific the Eredivisionists are. SC Cambuur would also be interested in the defender. PSV is only prepared to cooperate in a transfer if a good plan is devised, club watcher Rik Elfrink knows.
