Liverpool have won a big win in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. On a visit to Crystal Palace, manager Jürgen Klopp’s team was too strong with 1-3. Virgil van Dijk played an important role, who made it 0-1 with a striking header. Reduce thanks to the three-pointer the Reds, who collected 48 points in 22 games and are second, the gap to leader Manchester City (57 out of 23) to nine points. At the same time, Arsenal fell further behind at the top of the Premier League, because Mikel Arteta’s team bitten itself on Burnley: 0-0.

Crystal Palace – Liverpool 1-2
At Liverpool, Van Dijk could count on a basic place as usual. Compared to the won EFL Cup game with Arsenal (0-2), Klopp made two changes. Alisson Becker returned under the bar at the expense of Caoimhin Kelleher, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was favored over Kaide Gordon in the right wing position. On the other side, Jairo Riedewald had to settle for a place on the bench. From the first whistle, Liverpool went looking for the opening goal, which was found in the eighth minute.

Andrew Robertson was allowed to kick a corner from the left. The left back delivered a tight ball to the first post, where Van Dijk came free after a run and scored the 0-1 with a firm header. Even after the opening goal, Liverpool remained the dominant party. Sending Oxlade-Chamberlain and return ball from Robertson in the right direction in the twelfth minute of play; fifteen minutes later, Roberto Firminio lacked sharpness in the rounding. In the 32nd minute, Oxlade-Chamberlain did hit the mark.

Once again there was a key role for Anderson, who put the ball to the chest from the left at the right winger on duty. Although the assumption was not perfect, Oxlade-Chamberlain was given enough time and space to finish at the height of the five meter line: 0-2. Afterwards, Crystal Palace woke up and they caused danger at least twice, although the connecting goal would not fall before half-time. In the second company, the home team still found the 1-2. Ten minutes after the restart, Odsonne Edouard scored on a pass from Jean-Philippe Mateta.

In the penultimate minute of regulation time, Liverpool finally took the win. Diogo Jota was knocked out in the box by Joel Ward, after which referee Kevin Friend awarded a penalty to the visitors after viewing the video footage. Fabinho scored convincingly: 1-3.

Arsenal v Burnley 0-0
Despite an enormous optical superiority, Arsenal struggled to find openings at home against the grouped Burnley. After twenty minutes Martin Ödegaard saw a chance shot by Nick Pope, after which Alexandre Lacazette’s rebound was blocked. On the stroke of half-time, Bukayo Saka gave a shot to the far post, not enough curve to hit the goal.

Arsenal only managed to get a chance to score after halftime. Ödegaard, who decided the game against Burnley earlier this season with a free kick, this time shot from a standard situation on the roof of the goal. Emile Smith Rowe missed by about eleven yards after a cleverly taken corner, while Lacazette moments later, after a good preparatory play by Smith, Rowe aimed wide.
