Thijs Dallinga should be given a chance in the Dutch national team. That is the unanimous opinion of the analysts on Thursday Studio Europe. Both Kenneth Perez and Marciano Vink think Dallinga’s figures are too impressive to let go unrewarded. “If he makes them that easy internationally…”

Dallinga scored against Liverpool in the Europa League (3-2) on Thursday, while two weeks ago he was also accurate against the Reds. Since last season, the Toulouse striker has already scored 24 official goals on behalf of his club.

When presenter Jan-Joost van Gangelen mentions that statistic on Thursday, Vink pours clear wine. “For me, he should be there. If you already have such a problem with attackers, and you have someone who makes them so easy internationally, you should at least be given a chance.”

“We are collecting the selection of the Dutch national team here,” Perez joked earlier. The Dane would also like to see Jan Paul van Hecke in the Dutch. “That has to be included in the pre-selection, yes.”

No call yet
Dallinga and Van Hecke have both never been called up for ‘the big’ Dutch team, not even for the pre-selection. The duo was part of the core of the Dutch Juniors at the European Championships in Georgia.

However, the duo is too old to keep making promises. Dallinga turned 23 in August, while Van Hecke was allowed to blow out so many candles two months earlier.

In any case, Ronald Koeman seems to have to take them into account. Dallinga is a certainty at Toulouse, and can therefore produce impressive figures. Van Hecke has also been a regular starter at Brighton & Hove Albion since this season.
