Didier Lamkel Zé has once again made himself impossible at the Royal Antwerp of trainer Mark van Bommel. The Cameroonian attacker seemed to finally be able to be discharged by technical director Marc Overmars, as an agreement had been reached with Omonia Nicosia. At the very last moment, however, Lamkel Zé decided to pass the medical examination.

Lamkel Zé, who was leased to the French Metz last season, was about to leave Antwerp for good. The Belgians had reached an agreement with Omonia Nicosia and that had scheduled a medical examination to complete the Cameroonian’s transfer. However, at the last minute, the 25-year-old attacker decided not to show up for that medical examination. He is said to have been told that Ferencváros is interested and expects Lamkel Zé to get a better perspective there.

Hearing this, Lamkel Zé decided to abandon the medical examination at Omonia and leave immediately. That means that Antwerp, Van Bommel and Overmars are still not rid of the enfant terrible. Belgian media write that the Cypriots are also furious, as they state that all the paperwork has been completed and the transfer is therefore already official. Lamkel Zé is therefore accused of spreading lies and of breach of contract.

It is certainly not the first time that the winger from Cameroon has angered the people of Antwerp. He previously tried to force a transfer by wearing the shirt of Anderlecht, the great rival of the Great Old, coming to training and he also argued several times with teammates on the training field. In addition, he drew attention during matches by repeatedly committing very hard violations and he once received a red card in a Europa League preliminary round against AZ for taking off his shirt and showing it to the public.
