Bayern Munich was helped a lot in the saddle against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening. The team of new coach Thomas Tuchel took the lead within fifteen minutes via Dayot Upamecano. The Frenchman sent an inaccurate pass from his own half, but saw goalkeeper Gregor Kobel go horribly wrong. The Dortmund goalie finally mowed over the ball, resulting in the record master took the lead early in the game.
Thomas Tuchel’s baptism of fire as Bayern coach couldn’t have turned out better than it is at the moment. After Upamecano’s opening goal, Thomas Müller made it 2-0 and 3-0 with two goals. With the second goal, the assist came from Matthijs de Ligt, who delivered a header to his German teammate. Donyell Malen is sitting on the bench with the visitors. De Ligt is the only Dutchman within the lines.
