Bayern Munich has announced the line-up for the Bundesliga game against Schalke 04. Trainer Thomas Tuchel chooses to start with two different players than last weekend against Werder Bremen (1-2 win). Ryan Gravenberch and Sadio Mané move to the bench, while Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané can show it from the first minute. Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui also start the duel. De Ligt is not the only Dutchman on the field, because on the Schalke side there is a basic place for Sepp van den Berg. The match starts at 3.30 pm and can be seen on via play.
Under the bar at Bayern is of course Yann Sommer, who still replaces the injured Manuel Neuer. In front of him is a four-man defense, which consists of João Cancelo, De Ligt, Benjamin Pavard and Mazraoui from left to right. The midfield is formed by Jamal Musiala, Müller and Joshua Kimmich, and up front striker Serge Gnabry is flanked by Kingsley Coman and Sané.

With one point ahead of Dortmund, Bayern cannot afford to lose points. Schalke seems to be the ideal opponent for that, there the record master won the last eleven games against the team from Gelsenkirchen. Bayern’s last home game against Schalke ended in no less than 8-0. In addition, Tuchel’s team in the Bundesliga is still undefeated in the Allianz Arena this season. Tuchel can again dispose of Leon Goretzka, who returns from a suspension. The injured Alphonso Davies (thigh), Lucas Hernández (knee), Josip Stanisic (hamstring) and Neuer (broken leg) are not included. The latter, who last played at the World Cup, has resumed individual training.
With three games to go and two points ahead of the numbers sixteen and seventeen, Schalke urgently needs the points. The team of trainer Thomas Reis has moved huge mountains in recent weeks by winning three of his last four matches. Last Friday, Marius Bülter scored the winning goal in minute 90+12 (!) against 1. FSV Mainz 05 (2-3). That win did that the Königsblauen are at least fifteenth again for the first time since October last year. Schalke collected no less than 21 points in the second half of the season: a team has never been relegated that achieved that number of points in the second part of the season. After Bayern, Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig are still waiting.
Lineup Bayern Munich: Summer; Mazraoui, Pavard, De Ligt, Cancelo; Kimmich, Muller, Musiala; Coman, Gnabry, Sane.
Schalke 04 line-up: Schwolow; Brunner, Van den Berg, Kaminski, Uronen; Kral, Latza, Krauss; Karaman, Frey, Bulter.
