Tottenham Hotspur have not lost a point after three matchdays in the Premier League. The Nuno Espírito Santo team only needed a single goal from Heung-min Son on Sunday to put Watford aside: 1-0. Also in the previous encounters with Manchester City (1-0) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (0-1), the Londoners only needed one goal to step off the field as the winner.

A free kick by Son in the 42nd minute created the class difference between the teams of Nuno and Xisco Muñoz. Tottenham, with Steven Bergwijn in the base, looked the most dangerous until the 1-0 and also had some chances to open the score at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The biggest chance was for Japhet Tanganga after twenty minutes of play. Goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann made an excellent save. Watford looked dangerous at times, but Hugo Lloris couldn’t be tested enough.

Bachmann was surprised a few minutes before the break. A free kick by Son from the left towards the far post was too sharp and passed everything and everyone, including the goalkeeper of the Hornets: 1-0. Three of his last four official goals for Tottenham have come from outside the box and it was Son’s first free kick goal for the Londoners-

Watford had a good chance at the 1-1 nine minutes after the break. After a good move by Moussa Sissoko, Davinson Sánchez blocked a shot from Ismaïla Sarr in a formidable way and Lloris was able to pick up the ball. Tottenham were close to 2-0 on several occasions: Dele Alli shot wide after a good counterattack via Harry Kane and Son, while Bachmann reacted well to a change of direction by Tom Cleverley from Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg. In the final minutes, Bachmann also stood in the way of a Kane bet.

Bergwijn was inside the lines for 68 minutes: the the Dutch international, who reported to the Dutch national team on Monday, was replaced by Lucas Moura. William Troost-Ekong had a basic place at Watford. Tottenham will play an away game against Crystal Palace after the international break.
