The transfer window has only just closed, but the English media is already talking about the upcoming battle for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham. The 19-year-old midfielder left Birmingham City for Dortmund in 2020 for 25 million euros, but the German club would now demand at least 100 million euros for him. Several clubs would be willing to pay that amount.

The Telegraph reports that Liverpool have the best papers to untie Bellingham from Dortmund, although Real Madrid would also be an important candidate. The question now is who will actually go ahead and put a hundred million euros on the table, although that amount would in any case not deter Chelsea owner Todd Boehly. The London club spent no less than 280 million euros this transfer summer, to then quickly put manager Thomas Tuchel on the street.

According to The Sun Manchester United are also very interested in Bellingham. The Red Devils strengthened themselves this summer with Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, but see the future in Bellingham. Arch rival Manchester City has also been following him for a while. The right-winger consciously opted for a switch to the Bundesliga two years ago, after he saw that compatriot Jadon Sancho developed quickly in Germany. Dortmund has another new English gem ready with winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

Bellingham has never played a game in the Premier League so far. With Birmingham City he made a furore in the Championship, a level lower. Bellingham has scored four goals and two assists in 44 games for the hometown club. On Saturday afternoon, the midfielder can come into action for the hundredth time during the Kohlenpott derby BVB. Jobe Bellingham, Jude’s sixteen-year-old brother, is now also making good progress and has already played seven official games for Birmingham City.
