AC Milan has consolidated its second place in Serie A. Coach Stefano Pioli's team won 1-3 against Hellas Verona despite a wonderful goal from Tijjani Noslin. Goalscorers on Milan's side were Theo Hernández, Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze. Milan now has three points more than Juventus (62 to 59); Hellas is in fifteenth place, two points above the finish line.

On the Hellas side, Noslin was at the forefront. The Amsterdammer was supported at his back by, among others, Tomás Suslov, ex-FC Groningen. At Milan, Tijjani Reijnders appeared at the kick-off. He formed a central midfield pairing with Ismael Bennacer. Noah Okafor was given the point of attack over Olivier Giroud.

Fikayo Tomori soon had the opportunity to open the scoring. The Englishman received the ball from a free kick and saw his shot fly just wide of the goal. A beautiful volley from Okafor almost led to the opening goal after just under twenty minutes of play. The Swiss saw his effort, to his own disbelief, just as beautifully tapped from the top corner by Lorenzo Montipo.

Pulisic also came close to 0-1. The American saw his hard shot bounce out of the goal mouth off the underside of the crossbar. Milan remained the dominant party and continued to hunt for the lead. Okafor saw his effort, on a pass from Pulisic, fly a meter wide of Montipo's goal.

Just before half time, Milan still took the lead. Leão passed to Theo Hernández, whose pass initially yielded nothing. However, the ball remained in the possession of the Frenchman, who then decided to shoot it into the short corner: 0-1.

Not long after the first whistle of the second half sounded, the score became 0-2. Hellas defender Pawel Dawidowicz was shooting, giving Okafor free passage towards the Montipo. The goalie was able to save the Swiss' attempt, but had no chance on Pulisic's rebound: 0-2.

Hellas then shed some of its hesitation and should have actually produced the tying goal via Noslin. However, the attacker, who came over from Fortuna Sittard, headed over Mike Maignan's goal from close range. After just over an hour of play, the Amsterdammer still scored. Milan did not clear the ball well and Noslin worked the ball into the far corner with a wonderful dropkick: 1-2.

However, a result would not be possible for Hellas, partly because Chukwueze, who came in for the ever-threatening Okafor, also managed to get his name on the scoreboard in a nice way. Hellas did not clear a corner kick from Milan properly, after which Chukwueze scored the 1-3 with a wonderful volley into the far corner.
