Valentijn Driessen thinks that PSV is completely wrong with bringing in Thorgan Hazard. The people of Eindhoven expect to present the 29-year-old attacker on Tuesday as a new force for the wings, but the De Telegraaf journalist does not understand that the club sees Hazard as reinforcement, he makes clear in the podcast Kick off. “It’s just nothing at all. Really: he bakes so little of it!”, says Driessen.

Monday night revealed it Eindhovens Dagblad that Hazard is close to a temporary transfer to Eindhoven. The people of Noord-Brabant rent the left winger until the end of the current season and have included a purchase option in the agreement. Mike Verweij calls the arrival of Hazard one of the most striking transfers this winter. “I find it very striking that PSV is working on Thorgan Hazard. I think he would be a very good player for PSV. It is also an asset to the Eredivisie in general, so I would consider that a very nice transfer.”

Colleague Driessen cannot agree at all with Verweij’s words. “It’s just nothing at all. Thorgan Hazard. Really really true. He can do so little of it. He also never made it to the Belgian national team and is just a bad version of his brother Eden. And it doesn’t care at all. I didn’t see Thorgan Hazard against Ajax at all last year. They are those guys who slowly descend further and further to a lower level. He is really not going to help PSV on top,” said Driessen.

Hazard recently indicated that he preferred PSV to Everton, which also showed concrete interest. The brother of Real Madrid striker Eden Hazard came in no less than 15 of his 21 matches this season as a substitute at Dortmund. In Eindhoven, his perspective on minutes seems a lot more favorable, as he can be seen as a direct replacement for the departed Cody Gakpo and Noni Madueke. The right leg prefers to play on the left, but can also play on the other side.
