Feyenoord does not give up on the arrival of Ramiz Zerrouki. The people of Rotterdam have, according to Football International made a new offer of eight million euros for the 24-year-old midfielder of FC Twente. Although Zerrouki is absolutely not for sale, Feyenoord hopes to be able to sit down with the Tukkers with the hefty offer.

The team from Rotterdam is therefore prepared to make Zerrouki the most expensive Feyenoord player of all time, a record that is now held by Ezequiel Bullaude. The Argentinian, who had a difficult start in De Kuip, came over from Godoy Cruz for 7.5 million euros last summer. Quinten Timber also came over from FC Utrecht during the same transfer period for a slightly lower amount.

Zerrouki is fixed in Enschede until mid-2024. Although Jan Streuer, technical director of FC Twente, has been crystal clear and absolutely does not want to negotiate with Feyenoord, the team from Rotterdam hope that this will change on the final day of the transfer window. The team from Rotterdam think that an offer of eight million euros for a player with a contract for only one and a half years in Enschede will sow doubt. Zerrouki has 90 official matches for Twente, in which he produced 4 goals and 4 assists. The born Amsterdammer has also played seventeen international matches for Algeria.

Arne Slot announced on Sunday after the top match against FC Twente (1-1) that the player he would most like to add to the selection of Feyenoord played in the Grolsch Veste with the opposing team. Zerrouki himself would love to go to Feyenoord, a club that he sees as sporting progress. On January 10, Streuer made it public that Twente would no longer cooperate in a transfer for Zerrouki in the winter. “We want to perform, and if you let him leave you don’t show ambition,” Streuer said at the time. “We can’t figure it out. Then it will remain as it is, and the player must stay until the end of the season. We will not do it anymore.”
