Marco van Basten has expressed his disbelief about the goal that Kvicha Kvaratskhelia scored for Napoli on Saturday evening. Kvaratskhelia’s goal reminded Van Basten and presenter John van Vliet of an iconic photo of Diego Maradona. The legend of Napoli took on Argentina at the 1982 World Cup against Belgium. Van Vliet argues that Kvaratskhelia has ‘forced the status’ to be compared to Maradona. “Yes”, is the affirmative answer from Van Basten. The former striker regularly faced Maradona during his time at AC Milan in the 1980s. The latter led Napoli to the first Italian league title in club history in the 1986/87 season. The current Napoli is well on its way to becoming champion of Italy for the first time since 1990. The lead on number two Internazionale is eighteen points. Kvaratskhelia is one of the key players in the team. The Georgian has an unprecedented debut season and that already earned him the nickname Kvaradona on.
