Piet Velthuizen joins the selection of Fortuna Sittard. The current number nine of the Eredivisie reports on Wednesday morning that the 34-year-old keeper will train with Sjors Ultee’s team in the coming period. Velthuizen has been without a club since his departure from Telstar last summer.

Fortuna Sittard announces on the club website that the arrival of Velthuizen is a result of developments around the keepers Yanick van Osch and Alexei Koselev. Van Osch is struggling with a serious bone bruise, which means that he cannot take action in the coming weeks. Koselev is also about to complete a transfer. The club wants to compensate for their absence with Velthuizen, who will be on the training field at Fortuna Sittard for the first time on Wednesday.

Koselev lost his starting place in Sittard earlier this season under coach Kevin Hofland, who has now been fired. Since then he has to settle for a place on the bench behind first choice Van Osch. Since the goalkeeper and trainer change, the Limburg club has found its way up. The last place has been exchanged for the left row. Koselev has submitted a transfer request and the club management has agreed. According to Football International his transfer to a foreign club will be completed this month.
