A white-hot Jose Mourinho is considering taking ‘legal action’ against Marco Serra, who served as fourth official during AS Roma’s Serie A duel with Cremonese (2-1 loss). The Portuguese trainer was sent to the stands with a red card by referee Marco Piccinini shortly after the break on Tuesday evening on Serra’s advice.

Mourinho clashed with Serra in the first minute after the break. “The fourth man’s attitude was unbelievable,” Mourinho said afterwards La Republica. “He showed no respect for me. I will see if I can take legal action.” The SpecialOne said to have been offended by the fourth official. “I admit I’m emotional, but I’m not crazy. I only react this way if something happened before. Piccinini gave me the red card because he was told by the fourth official to do so. Unfortunately, Serra is not honest enough to admit what he said to me. If only there was an audio recording.”

“For the first time in my career, a fourth official spoke to me in such an incredible way,” Mourinho continued. “That cannot be justified. At the end of the game I went to them. Referee Piccinini told me to apologize to Serra. I told Serra to have the guts to tell what happened, but he has memory problems.”

It is suggested in Italian media that Serra Mourinho added: “Everyone is laughing at you. Go home, go home!” La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the public prosecutor of the Italian Football Federation is launching an investigation after the incident between Mourinho and Serra. Unless the red card is dropped, Mourinho is suspended for next Sunday’s league game against Juventus.
