Çaglar Söyüncü will play for Atlético Madrid from next summer. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano knows this. The Turkish international has an expiring contract with Leicester City and will not renew it, so that he can make the transfer to the Spanish capital on a free transfer. Söyüncü will sign for four years.

Atlético has not yet announced the arrival of the strong central defender, but according to Romano that is a matter of time. With his characteristic ‘here we go’, the transfer expert indicates that the change of club is a certainty. In January there was already an agreement between Atlético and Söyüncü and it has now been signed. The Turkish stopper, who is on 53 international matches for his country, will receive a commitment that will keep him until mid-2027. los Rojiblancos binds.

Söyüncü will have to win the competition at Atlético against defenders such as José María Giménez, Mario Hermoso and Stefan Savic. That trio has been playing in the back of the Madrilenians for a while, so the rear guard of trainer Diego Simeone could use some fresh blood. The new Turkish acquisition should therefore take care of that. Atlético also looks around for attackers and reportedly has Feyenoord striker Santiago Giménez in mind.

The upcoming transfer to Spain means that 26-year-old Söyüncü is already ready for his third club abroad. In 2016 he was picked up by Freiburg for almost eight million euros from Altinordu, after which it came from a million-dollar transfer to Leicester two years later. The Foxes paid more than twenty million euros, but do not see a penny of that transfer amount. Söyüncü played at the King Power Stadium for five years and is now leaving on a free transfer.
