Daichi Kamada will leave Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer at the end of the season, the club has confirmed through official channels. Frankfurt indicates that the Japanese decided not to extend his expiring contract because it was not in line with his wishes. Several clubs keep an eye on Kamada, including manager Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.

However, United is not the only party with an interest. Reported, among other things Sports mail that Chelsea, like United, hopes to trump Borussia Dortmund. The German Sports1 previously reported that Dortmund is the main candidate to take over the attacking midfielder. The Schwarzgelben would like to offer Kamada a five-year contract, including a salary package of a total of forty million euros. With this, Dortmund would like to sort out the possible departure of Jude Bellingham and Mahmoud Dahoud. Finally, Kamada is according to Calciomercato also being watched by AS Roma.

Kamada made the switch from Sagan Tosu to Frankfurt in the summer of 2017. The now 28-time international was rented out to Sint-Truidense VV in the 2018/19 season, where he made his breakthrough with sixteen goals and nine assists. Kamada eventually came to 170 games for Frankfurt and was good for 37 goals and 31 assists. The right leg turned out to be particularly decisive at European level, by scoring 14 times in 38 games and delivering 4 assists. With five goals and an assist in the 2021/22 season, he made a major contribution to winning the Europa League. He also won the DFB-Pokal with Frankfurt in the 2017/18 season.
