Chelsea had a carefree afternoon in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. The team of manager Thomas Tuchel had no child at Norwich City at home and triumphed 7-0. Ziyech was finally allowed to show up again for the home team. The midfielder came in for Callum Hudson-Odoi twenty minutes before the end and immediately asserted himself with a number of shots. Tim Krul, however, managed to avoid a hit. The Dutchman also took a penalty from Mason Mount, but came off the line too early and was beaten on the rebound. Chelsea strengthens the lead with the win and now has a four-point gap over pursuers Liverpool.
Tuchel had to make do at Stamford Bridge without Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, who dropped out in the midweek with various injuries. As a result, there was, among other things, a basic spot for Kai Havertz, who played as false number 9. Chelsea dominated from the first whistle and never let the visitors get into the game. The spell was broken after ten minutes by Mount, who swung from about twenty meters and hit the inside of the left post with a flaming shot. When Hudson-Odoi made it 2-0 after eighteen minutes, the game already seemed decided. The attacker finished in a controlled manner after a sublime through pass from Mateo Kovacic.

Norwich’s first shot of the game followed after 36 minutes (!) of play. Goalkeeper Édouard Mendy, however, was not in danger and saw how Reece James expanded the score not much later. The fullback was served by Mount and made an effective strike from the right side of the penalty area. Ronald de Boer also saw from the studio at Ziggo Sport that things were going well with the Londoners. “They play really fantastic. Aggressive, good on the ball, with a lot of confidence and depth.” After the break, the scoring urge did not diminish at Chelsea, which made it 4-0 via Ben Chilwell. The left back shot diagonally.

While Krul watched patiently, he was outwitted by his own defender after more than an hour of playing. Max Aarons worked a Hudson-Odoi cross behind his own goalkeeper, after which, to make matters worse, Ben Gibson also had to get rid of an indirect red card. Tuchel then brought in Ziyech, among others. The midfielder tried twice from distance, but found Krul in his way both times. It was still scored. Mount was allowed to score twice for a penalty after Krul ran out too early and completed his hat-trick in the final phase on a pass from Ruben Loftus-Cheek: 7-0.
