Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Burnley is canceled on Sunday afternoon. Heavy snowfall has made the field on Turf Moore unplayable. Volunteers did everything they could to clear the field from snow on Sunday morning, but were unsuccessful. It is not yet known when the game can be played.
The duel between Burnley and Tottenham was supposed to start at 3 p.m., but is therefore cancelled. “We can confirm that the match will not go ahead,” Burnley wrote on Twitter. “Due to concerns about the pitch, the referee does not consider it safe enough to play.” Images on the internet show how people are trying to get the snow off the field with all their might. Referee Peter Bankes considers it irresponsible to take action.
