Six suspects arrested on Sunday after the Ajax – Feyenoord match in the Johan Cruijff Arena must appear before the summary judge on Friday, October 6, for using violence against the police, the Public Prosecution Service announced.

The suspects range in age from 19 to 34 years old, the Public Prosecution Service reports. On Wednesday, the examining magistrate decided that they would remain in custody for an additional fourteen days on suspicion of public violence. The six who are still in custody are suspected of throwing stones. At least two officers were injured. The police investigation into the violence is still ongoing and more arrests may follow.

On Sunday, hundreds of supporters violently stormed the main entrance of the Johan Cruijff Arena after the match was stopped because fireworks had been thrown onto the field, with a lot of violence also being used against the police. Supporters managed to force open the main entrance and were able to reenter the stadium. The riot police used police horses and tear gas to restore order.
