Sheraldo Becker is unstoppable at Union Berlin. In Saturday evening’s league game against RB Leipzig in their own An der alten Försterei, the quick attacker scored on behalf of his team and also provided an assist. That ultimately resulted in a 2-1 victory. It is already the fifth time this calendar year that Becker has provided a goal and an assist in one match and only Kylian Mbappe can do that. The Frenchman also did it five times.

In minute 32, Becker escaped on the right and served fellow striker Jordan Siebatcheu to measure. He calmly pushed the ball past Janis Blaswich, the former keeper of Heracles Almelo, who defended the Leipzig goal. Six minutes later, Becker himself was the final destination of an attack by the team from Berlin. He took the ball with him, entered the penalty area and found the far corner with the left. With this, the Dutchman scores at least one goal and one assist in one and the same game for the fifth time this calendar year and in the big five competitions only Mbappé did that.

The two goals that Becker was involved in both came in the first half and Union took a 2-0 lead into the break. In the second company, the formation of trainer Urs Fischer tried to defend the margin obtained and it was clearly no longer the intention to put a third goal on the board. That also became clear after 74 minutes, when Becker was substituted. Five minutes before the end it was still exciting when Willi Orban scored the connecting goal, but in the final phase the fanatical public kept Union going and the points were in.

As a result, Becker’s formation remains unbeaten in the Bundesliga after three games. It won twice and also drew once, resulting in seven points, which are enough for the lead for the time being. Bayern Munich will be in action later this weekend and can then come in at nine out of three.
