A section on the body of Jody Lukoki must provide a definitive answer about his cause of death, a spokesperson for the Central Netherlands police told the newspaper. The Telegraph† According to the police, it is not yet possible to say with certainty that the attacker died at the age of 29 as a result of a violent argument with family members.

“We have information about a violent incident and are now investigating it. But there are still a lot of questions,” spokesperson Wim Hoonhout told The Telegraph† The police indicate that a formal report has been made of the violent incident between Lukoki and some family members. Lukoki passed away Monday morning at the age of 29. According to the General Newspaper the footballer took ‘a big blow’ at a party. Once he got home, he decided to go to the hospital due to extreme head and knee pain, where his health went downhill fast.

Doctors determined that Lukoki’s leg had to be amputated due to a persistent infection and oxygen deficiency. The infection may have been caused by the use of nitrous oxide. He was temporarily kept in a coma after the surgery. He died of cardiac arrest around 6 a.m. Monday, the authorities reported General Newspaper based on sources surrounding the deceased attacker.

During his career, Lukoki played for Ajax, SC Cambuur and PEC Zwolle. Most recently he was under contract with FC Twente, where his contract was broken earlier this year. The attacker did not play for the Tukkers for a minute, as he was seriously injured in the summer. Lukoki saw his contract broken earlier this year.
