It seems that RC Lens can be admired in the Champions League next season. The number two of the Ligue 1 saw number three Olympique Marseille, which had two points less for tonight, namely 2-1 loss at Lille OSC. L’OM started energetically via a goal by Jonathan Clauss, but things went wrong after the break. Jonathan David and Jonathan Bamba still gave the home team the victory. Lille is doing excellent business, is fifth and still has a chance to win a Europa League ticket. For Marseille, an entry ticket for the preliminary round of the Champions League seems to be the highest achievable.
Particularities
After half an hour of play, Lille suffered a particularly expensive loss of possession in midfield. A lightning-fast counter from Marseille followed and eventually Clauss got the ball perfectly in front of his feet. With a nice marker he outwitted goalkeeper Pau López: 0-1. Lille, however, focused in the second half, although it had the necessary fortune with the equalizer. Substitute Issa Kaboré’s pass to his goalkeeper Pau López was too soft, after which the Spaniard committed a foul. A penalty kick followed and David gratefully unwrapped the present: 1-1. Twenty minutes before the end, the lead for Lille was there. Rémy Cabella gave a perfect lead to Bamba, who headed in flawlessly: 2-1. The home team did not relinquish the victory in the final.
Marseille conquers the ball and immediately punishes it with a great attack and a super sprint from Clauss ??#ZiggoSport #Ligue1 #LOSCOM pic.twitter.com/KaGu2m1Dpn
