Relatives of AZ players, coaches and board members have been harassed by West Ham United fans. Around the lost game in the semi-final of the Conference League (2-1), the families traveling along in the Olympic stadium were attacked by English supporters. General director Robert Eenhoorn saw the unrest in the main stand from a distance and quickly took action to bring the victims to safety, writes The Telegraph.

Reports from the newspaper show that there were no casualties in the incident, but that the family members present had to be relieved. Some fans of the home club realized that Dutch AZ fans were sitting in the main stand and not in the two reserved sections for the accompanying supporters. The girlfriend and two children of trainer Pascal Jansen and Eenhoorn’s wife, among others, were attacked.

Unicorn saw it happen from a distance, did not hesitate for a moment and rushed to the scene of the disaster to bring the frightened family members to safety, he says. “They were then taken to a different place, high up in the stadium. But that’s where some of West Ham’s most dangerous supporters were. As a result, I hardly got anything from the game, I was only concerned with the safety of our people,” said the general manager.
