Pedro Ruiz Delgado is the new striker of NEC. The club from Nijmegen reports on the club website on Thursday that the 21-year-old attacker will be rented from Olympique Marseille for two years. The Ligue 1 club presented Ruiz, who comes transfer-free from Real Madrid, on Thursday through the official channels and rents him directly to NEC.

Ruiz has been part of Real Madrid’s youth academy since 2015. In 2020 he suffered a serious knee injury, after which he no longer played an official game. Before that, he scored 4 goals in 22 league matches for Real Madrid Castilla. According to technical director Ted van Leeuwen, the acquisition was noticed at a young age in the youth of Real Madrid. “Pedro is a top talent in Spain,” he says.

“A center striker of almost two meters, but at the same time light-footed”, Van Leeuwen describes the new striker of NEC. “That’s a rare combination. Pedro has since recovered from a serious knee injury and will join the match selection in the coming weeks. It is an honor for our paramedic staff that such big clubs choose NEC and we are happy that he chooses our project.”

“I am very happy to sign with NEC,” Ruiz said on the club’s website. “I’ve had a lot of contact with those involved at NEC lately and it was good to see how eager they were to sign me. I am looking forward to playing matches at the Goffert Stadium, scoring goals and celebrating goals with our supporters.”
