Latest update:

Willy and René van de Kerkhof are thoroughly enjoying the current PSV. In a report from the Algemeen Dagblad the 72-year-old twins are already taking a shot at the club's 25th national title. The duo is particularly pleased with midfielder Jerdy Schouten, who, according to Willy, can even join the ruling Manchester City.

Journalist Dennis van Bergen from the Algemeen Dagblad was an attentive spectator at the popular one this week Willy & René PSV podcast. His report could be read on Saturday morning in the A.D.

Willy no longer beats around the bush. “If we win next game, it's almost done.” PSV will play against the struggling bottom line Vitesse on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 PM. René does not yet want to fully participate in the party atmosphere around his club. “Hohoho, Willy. We still have to go to Heerenveen, right? We haven't been playing that well lately.”

Schouten is clearly one of Willy's favorite players. “A Jerdy Schouten like that, huh? For me he is the Willem van Hanegem of PSV. A brilliant director. However, Schouten is a bit faster than Willem. And blessed with a good right leg.” The right foot is Schouten's preferred foot, while Van Hanegem was known as a legendary left foot.

René is also pleased with Schouten. The club icon has a clear message for technical director Earnest Stewart. “Even if a club were willing to pay 100 million for Schouten, you still shouldn't let him go.” Willy takes that a step further. “Not yet for double.” According to Transfer market Schouten is currently worth 24 million euros.

Willy describes what he likes about Schouten. “So much overview, so easy to play football. He is a phenomenon. Put him at Manchester City and he will join in.” René does not seem to agree with this, but Willy pushes his opinion. “Schouten would effortlessly join City, I say!”

The twins are also full of praise for the man behind PSV's success, Bosz. “Do you know who Bosz reminds me of? To Kees Rijvers,” said René. Willy also thinks Bosz is an excellent trainer. “Bosz is a bit like Rijvers, yes, that's right. He is above that mennekes, but might as well stand between them. Good looking. Bosz has really put PSV back on the map with his attacking way of playing.”
