PSV will have competition in the battle for the arrival of Milan van Ewijk. Football International reported on Monday that the people of Eindhoven are again interested in the 22-year-old defender of sc Heerenveen. Van Ewijk was also in the interest of PSV last year. The Leeuwarder Courant know, however, that the right-back is also on the radar of German and English clubs.

According to the local newspaper, FC Augsburg recently sat for Van Ewijk in the stands of the Abe Lenstra Stadium. From England, clubs from the Premier League and the Championship have shortlisted the right back. Van Ewijk still has a contract in Friesland until mid-2025 and is said to cost between four and five million euros. However, Heerenveen would hope for a higher transfer fee due to the great competition.

Van Ewijk made the switch from ADO Den Haag to Heerenveen in the summer of 2021. The right back immediately grew into a basic player and can provide impressive figures, especially this season. In 29 official matches, he scored 5 goals and 2 assists. PSV currently has Phillipp Mwene and Jordan Teze at their disposal who can play as right backs. The 21-year-old Shurandy Sambo will also be rented out to Sparta Rotterdam this season.

Van Ewijk could already count on interest from Fulham and Sporting Portugal during the winter transfer window. The four-time international of the Dutch Juniors hopes to make a good step next summer. “I try to stay on the route that I have in mind,” he said in an interview with the NOS. “My ambition is to take that step and I am trying to develop myself to be ready for that step.”
