Davy Pröpper is open to a return to PSV, it knows Eindhovens Dagblad to report. The newspaper calls PSV ‘the most logical employer’ for the 29-year-old midfielder in the next season, despite the fact that Feyenoord ‘is or has been interested’. However, the people of Eindhoven will have to come to an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion, which demanded ten million euros at an earlier stage.

It Eindhovens Dagblad labels this asking price of ten million euros as a ‘hopeless asking price’. PSV wants to ‘pay best’ for Pröpper, but does not intend to meet such requirements. Pröpper’s contract with Brighton will continue until mid-2023 for the time being, but that is likely the Seagulls not be unkind to the midfielder’s departure Partly due to injuries, Pröpper only played eleven games this season and was on the reserve bench for the last six Premier League matches without playing minutes.

Partly because of this, Pröpper is open to a return to PSV and the Eredivisie. PSV has been busy with the arrival of the seventeen-time international of the Dutch for ‘quite some time’, although there is also dormant competition from Feyenoord. The interest from Rotterdam in Pröpper is not considered very realistic by the Eindhovens Dagblad ‘given the possibilities of PSV and also the expected European ticket in the summer’. PSV unofficially secured second place on Thursday and thus a ticket for the preliminary round of the Champions League.

Pröpper has been playing in England since the summer of 2017, after Brighton paid 13 million euros to take over from PSV. The midfielder was a base player at Brighton in his first three seasons, but this year he has to put up with considerably less playing time. For the time being, Pröpper, youth product of Vitesse, has 121 matches ahead the Seagulls behind his name, in which he provided 2 goals and 9 assists.
