In the night from Friday to Saturday, PSV fans hung a banner at the home of Femke Halsema, the mayor of Amsterdam. The Eindhoven supporters are not welcome in the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Sunday during the Eredivisie squatter against Ajax because of a decision that Halsema took in August. As a result, PSV cannot count on support from the branch.

The PSV supporters are not welcome this Sunday due to the disturbances surrounding the match for the Johan Cruijff Scale (3-5 PSV). The Eindhoven visitors sang anti-Semitic slogans, among other things. The fans were also not welcome at the game with FK Bodø/Glimt (1-2 win) last Thursday, due to disturbances during the game against Arsenal (1-0 loss) at the Emirates Stadium.

Halsema’s decision still hurts in Eindhoven. The mayor woke up this morning with a message from the supporters from Brabant. “Bullying supporters makes you happy, your son is a criminal, not us”, was read on a large banner in front of the house in Amsterdam. Salient detail: a language error could be discovered on the banner (‘become’ instead of word). The mistake caused a lot of hilarity on social media.

On the banner, PSV supporters make a reference to a case from 2019. Halsema’s then fifteen-year-old son was then arrested with a firearm together with a friend when they caused nuisance on an empty houseboat in East Amsterdam. They threw the weapon away when the police arrived, but there was no prosecution. The case was eventually settled through Bureau Halt.
