PSV has signed Conrad Jaden Egan-Riley, the club announced through official channels. The people of Eindhoven report that the defender, who joins Jong PSV, is rented from Burnley for half a season. PSV has also negotiated an option to purchase.

The 21-year-old right back and center defender completed his youth training at Manchester City, after which he switched to Burnley in 2022. However, a breakthrough at that club was not immediately possible. He mainly played his matches for the U23 team and played six times for Burnley's first team.

Football director Earnest Stewart is pleased with the arrival of the English youth international. “CJ is a very talented player. It is not without reason that we wanted to bring him to PSV in the summer. He will first join the promising team, where he can be in the spotlight of the main team during matches and training.”

Egan-Riley was already linked to PSV during the summer transfer period. According to Football Internationaljournalist Marco Timmer, Burnley was late with the papers at the time, so the English youth international did not sign with PSV. After Egan-Riley missed out, PSV quickly switched to Armel Bella-Kotchap, who is rented from Southampton.

Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad reported earlier on Thursday that PSV was in the market for Egan-Riley. PSV initially targeted Jeremiah St. Juste, but the Dutch center back from Sporting Portugal turned out to be too expensive. The Portuguese would ask for more than ten million euros, which caused the deal to fall through.

Egan-Riley went through the entire youth academy of Manchester City and even played three official games in the main squad under manager Josep Guardiola. Egan-Riley has also not (yet) managed to make a definitive breakthrough at Burnley.

Earlier in the day, PSV also strengthened itself with Aston José Da Silva Dos Paciencia (17), the talented cousin of Jordan Teze. Da Silva was born in Roosendaal, but plays his youth matches for Luxembourg. According to Elfrink, PSV has looked at the right leg several times, and he left a good impression on scouting. Da Silva has committed himself to the Brabant leader until mid-2026.
