Renato Sanches will make a domestic switch from LOSC Lille to Paris Saint-Germain. According to the generally reliable RMC Sports the Parisians already have a personal agreement with the Portuguese midfielder. The French sports newspaper expects the clubs to agree on a transfer fee for the 24-year-old midfielder within a few days.

Sanches has been playing for Lille since 2019 and came over from Bayern Munich. The French sub-topper paid twenty million for the Portuguese. Sanches played official games for Lille in the last 90’s, scoring 6 goals and providing 10 assists. It is not yet known what Lille is asking for him. The fierce midfielder has flourished in Ligue 1 after some difficult years in Germany.

During the beautifully won championship of Lille in 2021, Sanches played an important role in the team of then trainer Christophe Galtier. Galtier was recently appointed as the new PSG head coach. As a result, the link between Sanches and the European superpower has been increasingly established in recent weeks. A transfer from Sanches to Paris would exacerbate Georginio Wijnaldum’s dire situation at PSG. It is quite possible that Sanches will be presented next week.

On Friday, technical director John de Jong told the Eindhovens Dagblad indicated that Georginio Wijnaldum is currently unfeasible for PSV. A way out towards Eindhoven does not seem realistic. “Wijnaldum is a great footballer, who definitely has to go to the World Cup. But it is not an issue now. I have no contact with him either. There are enough people within the club who know him and have contact with him.” Moreover, PSV has already strengthened its position considerably by attracting Guus Til (Spartak Moscow) and Xavi Simons (Paris Saint-Germain).
