Juan Bernat has signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, the French superpower announces through official channels. The 28-year-old fullback has signed in Paris for four years and is now with PSG until mid-2025. Recently, Bernat was linked by Spanish media with a transfer-free transfer to Seville or Barcelona, but has now extended his expiring commitment.

Bernat has been under contract with PSG since 2018, which took him over from Bayern Munich for five million euros almost three years ago. The eleven-time international of Spain – youth product of Valencia – played in southern Germany for four years and won with der Rekordmeister four league titles and a DFB Pokal. Since his transfer to PSG, Bernat has added two more French league titles, a Coupe de France and a Coupe de la Ligue to his palmares.

For now, Bernat made 76 appearances in the shirt of les Parisiens and normally the Spaniard was first choice in left back position at PSG. However, Bernat is currently recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, allowing Mitchel Bakker, Layvin Kurzawa and center-back Abdou Diallo to regularly appear on the left side of the defense. Bakker has already played 29 official games this season, partly due to the absence of Bernat. Bernat was also out of circulation for a while last season, then with calf problems.
