FC Twente and Ajax are talking about extending the rental period of Kik Pierie, so you know TC Tubantia to report. According to the regional newspaper, the Amsterdammers are open to storing the twenty-year-old defender in Enschede for another season. In any case, there will be no place for Pierie in the first selection at Ajax next season, while his contract in Amsterdam will run until mid-2024.

Pierie was taken over by Ajax a year and a half ago from sc Heerenveen for five million euros, but did not conquer a place in the main force of the team from Amsterdam in his first year. After no performance in the first and 22 matches for Young Ajax in the Kitchen Champion Division, he has been rented out to FC Twente this season. In the twenty matches he played for the Tukkers for the time being, he did not always make a convincing impression, but technical director Jan Streuer would still like to hire him from Ajax for another season.

“He has been unhappy at times, that’s right. But Ron Jans and I are convinced that there is still a lot of progress in him, and that he will have a much better year next season. You must remember that he has been injured a few times and that he is only twenty years old. Which club in the left row plays with a central defender of twenty? ”, Streuer says in conversation with TC Tubantia. The technical director says he wants to have four center-backs in the selection next season, so it means that FC Twente will enter the transfer market for this position. In addition to Pierie, trainer Ron Jans currently has Dario Dumic and (the injured) Julio Pleguezuelo available.

Incidentally, FC Twente has also exercised the option in the expiring contract of Queensy Menig. It means that the 25-year-old attacker is associated with the current number eight of the Eredivisie for at least one more season. FC Twente soon wants to meet with Menig to offer him a new contract. With 8 goals in a total of 25 official matches, the former youth international has a good season in the team of trainer Ron Jans.
