Alexandre Lacazette is talking to Canal+ openly flirted with a return to Olympique Lyon. The thirty-year-old striker has an expiring contract with his employer Arsenal and seems to see a return to the club that he left in 2017 for 53 million euros.

Lacazette is currently Arsenal’s captain and first striker after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left for Barcelona this winter. Nevertheless, the striker seems to be on his way to the exit at the gunners† In an interview with Canal+ the Frenchman discusses his future. “I’m in talks with a lot of clubs, I’m open to several things. I want to play European football,” says Lacazette.

Lacazette then openly flirts with his old club Lyon. “Since I left, I have never broken contact with Lyon. I try to go back to the club once or twice a year. Lyon knows I am free. We will see,” said the youth product of the French club. L’Equipe reported earlier in early February that Lyon wants to bring Lacazette back to the club. The club of trainer Peter Bosz would have tried in vain in the winter transfer period. A departure in January was out of the question for both the striker himself and Arsenal, because Lacazette seemed to be more in Mikel Arteta’s plans again.

Lacazette made 275 appearances during his time with Lyon, scoring 129 times and providing 43 assists. The attacker left for Arsenal in 2017 for €53 million, but has publicly stated several times that he will return to… les gones sees it. L’Equipe even reported that it is a dream of Lacazette to end his football career with Samuel Umtiti and Corentin Tolisso at Lyon. The biggest stumbling block in returning to Lyon seems to be the salary. The striker currently earns more than ten million euros at Arsenal, making it one of the top earners of the current number six in the Premier League.
