Feyenoord is already scouting a successor for Arne Slot, Feyenoord watcher Martijn Krabbendam reports in the Dick Voormekaar podcast by Football International. Feyenoord director Dennis te Kloese seems to be taking a departure into account and has compiled a list of successors.

Slot has been told by the club that he must indicate before Wednesday whether he will stay or not. The trainer, who recently became champion of the Netherlands, is at the top of the list at Tottenham Hotspur to succeed Antonio Conte. Feyenoord icon Jon Dahl Tomasson, among others, has been asked about his situation at Blackburn Rovers, of which he is currently a trainer. “That’s it with Don Dennis, he is already working on the future,” says Krabbendam.

In addition to Jon Dahl Tomasson, the podcast also mentions the names of Dick Schreuder (PEC Zwolle), Marcel Keizer (Al-Jazira) and Peter Bosz. Krabbendam does add that none of these trainers have been approached by Feyenoord, but are being ‘monitored by the club management. “They are already mapping out how they let their teams play football,” says Krabbendam in the podcast.

“I think we all need clarity as soon as possible,” Slot discussed the rumors surrounding his future at Feyenoord at ESPN on Sunday afternoon. “But a number of things are clear. That I said ‘no’ to Leeds United during the winter break and that I want to do everything I can to become champions here. And that I either stay, and if I don’t stay, it will also be very good for Feyenoord. Provided there is a departure, it will not only be good for me, but also for Feyenoord. But it could also be very good for Feyenoord if I stay. And I think that will show in the coming weeks.”
