PEC Zwolle has done excellent business in the Kitchen Champion Division. The team of trainer Dick Schreuder was 5-2 too strong for FC Eindhoven. On behalf of the home team, Younes Taha was the big man with two goals, while Luis Görlich, Bart van Hintum and Samir Lagsir were also accurate for the Bluefingers. Eindhoven reached the same level twice via Jasper Dahlhaus and Lamine Diaby-Fadiga, but a result was ultimately not possible for the North Brabant team. PEC rises to second place due to the victory, while Eindhoven remains in fourth place.

PEC won last week’s game at TOP Oss with convincing numbers (0-5) and so Schreuder had no reason to change. This meant, among other things, that Tomislav Mrkonjic and Taha were of service to the strikers and that a place in midfield was again reserved for Jordy Turuarima. On the side of Eindhoven, Collin Seedorf was missing, who received two yellow cards in the 0-1 win against Jong FC Utrecht. His place in the defense was taken by Pieter Bogaers. Ozan Kökçü and Naoufal Bannis were put on the bench by trainer Rob Penders. Diaby-Fadiga and Evan Rottier played for that duo respectively.

PEC already had his desired goal in the seventh minute. After Tibo Persyn committed a serious foul on Tutuarima, referee Robin Gansner applied the advantage and Taha was able to take advantage with a good shot into the far corner: 1-0. Nevertheless, the people of Eindhoven managed to get over that blow quickly. After Rottier broke out, he gave the ball to Dahlhaus, who managed to work the inside: 1-1. However, PEC soon took the lead again. A fine through ball from Thomas van den Belt ended up at Görlich, who had a good assumption, outplayed goalkeeper Nigel Bertrams and was able to finish with the left: 2-1. Diaby-Fadiga was close to equalizing twice before half time, but the Frenchman lacked the necessary fortune with his header and shot.

After the break, Eindhoven did put things in order. A smooth-running attack resulted in the ball reaching Brian De Keersmaecker via Charles-Andreas Brym. The Belgian then had a sharp low cross at home on Diaby-Fadiga, who hit the mark this time: 2-2. Just like before the break, PEC managed to quickly recover from the equalizer. Bart van Hintum saw his free kick changed direction, leaving Bertrams without a chance: 3-2. The 4-2 soon followed via Taha. The attacker came in front of his man and was therefore able to work through Lennart Thy’s sharp cross. Taha was close to his third moments later, but he saw his attempt go wide to the left. Still, there would be a fifth Overijssel goal in injury time, which came in the name of substitute Lagsir.
