Patrick van Aanholt has turned to Mattéo Guendouzi via social media after the Olympique Marseille midfielder claimed a penalty in the final minute of the game against Galatasaray (0-0). Guendouzi collided with the Dutch defender and went down, but was ruled out by referee Pawel Raczkowski. After the game, Van Aanholt addressed the Frenchman via Twitter, making fun of the midfielder’s haircut.

The duel between Marseille and Galatasaray did not excel in sportsmanship anyway, as supporters of both clubs pelted each other with fireworks during the game. Raczkowski then interrupted the game for about ten minutes. For Van Aanholt, the duel did not end after ninety minutes. After the alleged penalty moment, Raczkowski was brought to the screen by VAR, after which the Pole decided not to award a penalty, much to Guendouzi’s anger. The Marseille midfielder vented his anger at Van Aanholt, with whom he had a long altercation.

Van Aanholt took to Guendouzi on Twitter and posted a gif of the famous action where Marouane Fellini grabbed Guendouzi by the hair during a match between Manchester United and Arsenal, in December 2018. ‘ reads the accompanying text. “Lickkleman (little man, ed.) I need to relax before I pull the wig off your head. Congratulations to my lions for a well deserved point.”

Van Aanholt’s tweet was thrown into the world at half past one in the morning and could count on more than five thousand retweets and almost thirty thousand likes in the morning.
