Paris Saint-Germain booked his first victory in the Ligue 1 of the season on Wednesday evening by finishing 1-0 with FC Metz in injury time. Because of a red card for Abdou Diallo there was already bad news for Thomas Tuchel during the match and now Juan Bernat also seems to be offside for a long time to come.

RMC Sport manages to report that within the club it is feared that the left back has suffered a severe knee injury. Bernat bumped into teammate Presnel Kimpembe in the closing stages of the game and had to be replaced immediately.

The fear at les Parisiens is now that the Spaniard has suffered a cruciate injury and will be eliminated for at least six months. Tuchel expressed all his worries after the match at the subsequent press conference: “I’m very sorry for Juan and I’m expecting a severe knee injury.”

The disappearance of Bernat would be a setback for les Parisiens. His first replacement Layvin Kurzawa has just been informed that he has been suspended for seven games because of his role in last week’s uproar against Olympique Marseille. Mitchel Bakker may therefore hope for a lot of playing time in the coming weeks.
