Erik ten Hag organized a barbecue for the Manchester United selection and their families last Sunday, the newspaper wrote DailyMail. The festivities – which included bouncy castles and entertainers – took place in Carrington. The main purpose of the barbecue was to create unity after the difficult start to the new season.

The families were treated to what was described as a ‘healthy barbecue’, with plenty of entertainment for the children. There were bouncy castles, entertainers and the opportunity for the youngest attendees to have their faces painted. Ten Hag is said to have spent the entire day among all the people chatting and thanking them for the sacrifices made to allow the players to perform.

The fact that United won against Burnley a day earlier was a pleasant incident. Ten Hag is going through an extremely difficult phase and has only managed to win two of the last six matches. With ninth place in the Premier League, the pressure is on for the Haaksbergen-born manager. Hopefully with a series of matches against opponents who are less strong on paper the Mancunians to continue the upward trend.

The barbecue was already planned by Ten Hag a few weeks ago. To thank the families of the players and staff members, they were also invited to the dinner. The DailyMail writes that the invitation was responded to en masse and almost everyone was present. The only player missing was Jadon Sancho. The winger has been in conflict with Ten Hag for some time.

Sancho’s future appears to be increasingly in doubt. After he was initially banned from using the facilities of the first selection at the training complex, the feud with Ten Hag has now entered a new chapter. Sancho currently refuses to personally apologize to the Dutchman. On Tuesday, Sancho deactivated his Instagram account.
