Thomas Müller has played himself on the radar at Newcastle United and Everton, reports BILD. The Bayern Munich attacker still has a contract in southern Germany until next summer. Talks about a new contract are not yet on the agenda. It is possible that the man who has played at Bayern since 2000 will be transferred next summer, as Müller would not feel like leaving Bayern this winter.

Müller has been the driving force behind Bayern’s success for years. Also this season, with 6 goals and 16 assists in the Bundesliga, he has an important part in the performance of the leader. Müller is still under contract in Munich until the summer of 2023. There are currently no talks about a contract extension. BILD know to report that a winter departure is not an option for Müller. In the summer all cards are on the table, or so it sounds.

Newcastle are expected to make the cut next summer, should the club maintain its position in the Premier League. The wealthy owners already spent 45 million euros this winter with the arrival of Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood. Bruno Guimarães should be next in line with a transfer of 40 million euros. Müller said he could not rule out a transfer last year. “I am not committed to this club. I have always loved this club. But if a situation arises where you have to make a decision to maybe play for another club, it would be no shame and no problem at all.”

The attacker has spent his entire career at Bayern, after entering the youth academy in 2000. He made his debut under Jürgen Klinsmann in the 2008/09 season. Müller is in third place with 610 games of players with the most games in the shirt of Bayern. In terms of goals, he only has to tolerate Gerd Müller and Robert Lewandowski. With Bayern, Müller won the league title ten times, the cup six times and the Champions League twice.

BILD don’t expect Müller to choose an adventure at Newcastle or Everton over Bayern. Both English clubs are currently battling relegation. Newcastle are eighteenth with 15 points from 21 matches, while Everton are not doing much better with sixteenth place (19 points). Closer Burnley, which is three points from Newcastle, also played three games less. Everton and Newcastle will face each other when the Premier League resumes on February 8.
