The Dutch appear to be in an excellent position in the market with the new owners of Newcastle United, because the Magpies are now making an effort to bring in Jeremiah St. Juste, reports Sky Deutschland. Newcastle is already negotiating with FSV Mainz, which wants fifteen million euros.

Mainz would therefore hit a major financial blow, because the current number ten in the Bundesliga himself paid eight million euros to Feyenoord for St. Juste in 2019. The mandekker is an undisputed basic player and is regarded as one of the fastest defenders in the competition. St. Juste is on 69 official duels for Mainz and was already in the final selection of the Dutch in March 2021, but did not make his debut yet.

Newcastle are determined to add a new center back this month and have already made several attempts to do so. Sven Botman appeared not to be released from Lille OSC, while Sevilla did not cooperate with the departure of Diego Carlos. In England, by Sky Sports reported that Newcastle still have a chance in the battle for the signature of Dan Burn. The 29-year-old center defender can be picked up for 8.5 million euros from Brighton & Hove Albion, but at the same time is not the big name Newcastle had hoped for. Newcastle still hopes to bring in Mitchel Bakker in the left back position. Bayer Leverkusen is still considering the offer of 20 million euros from England.

Bruno Guimarães of Olympique Lyon is almost inside. Newcastle has, according to Fabrizio Romano, reached an agreement with Peter Bosz’s club about a €40 million offer for the 24-year-old midfielder. However, Lyon labeled the messages on its own club channels as nonsense on Wednesday. That also happened a few years ago with Ferland Mendy, who left for Real Madrid eight days later.
