Internazionale is going to get involved in the battle for Marcos Senesi’s signature, reports la Gazzetta dello Sport† The Feyenoord defender could already count on interest from Napoli last year and he was also linked with a transfer to AS Roma earlier this month. In addition to Senesi, Andreas Christensen and Martin Hinteregger are also in the picture as possible reinforcements.

Inter’s defensive block, consisting of Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni, is less convincing than a few months ago. A departure from De Vrij at i Nerazzurri becomes according to la Gazzetta dello Sport no longer ruled out and the Italians are therefore targeting a possible successor. Javier Zanetti, vice president of Inter, is said to be charmed by Senesi. In addition, Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen and Martin Hinteregger of Eintracht Frankfurt are also on the shortlist of Inter.

Senesi – acquired from San Lorenzo in 2019 for seven million euros and with a resale percentage – still has a contract with Feyenoord until mid-2023. Previously, both camps had the intention to upgrade that commitment, but that has not yet happened. Senesi has played 98 official matches for Feyenoord so far. That the 24-year-old Argentine defender may make a transfer to Serie A in the future seems realistic given that his entourage has repeatedly stated that the defender sees himself playing in Italy in the future.

An alternative to Senesi is Christensen, who has an expiring contract with Chelsea and earns around 4.5 million euros a year in London. The Danish defender is considered an interesting option by Simone Inzaghi, as he will the Blues used to playing in a three-man defence.
