Naci Ünüvar’s knee injury is relatively easy, reports Ajax Showtime. The attacking midfielder of Ajax does not have to go under the knife and is probably out for four to six weeks. On Saturday, Ünüvar twisted his knee with Jong Ajax in a duel with FC Eindhoven (3-0 loss) and went off the field crying.

On Monday, Ünüvar underwent an examination of his knee at the Amsterdam UMC. This showed that the cruciate ligaments and meniscus of the seventeen-year-old midfielder are intact. Haircut damage has occurred to the knee, which means that Ünüvar has to watch for up to six weeks. The 2020/21 season is therefore over for Ajax’s youth product, which will nevertheless be glad that an operation is not necessary.

On Instagram, Ünüvar reacted briefly to his injury on Saturday. “You have to be at your strongest when you feel your weakest,” he wrote in English. Ünüvar is on Youri Regeer, Neraysho Kasanwirjo and Enric Llansana after the player who played the most matches this season on behalf of Young Ajax in the Kitchen Champion Division. In 29 matches he scored 7 goals and 1 assist.
