If José Mourinho wins the Europa League with AS Roma on Wednesday, the Portuguese will be ‘110 percent certain’ as the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain, reports Paulo Vinicius Coelho (PVC) of UOL Esporte. Should things go wrong for Roma in the final against Sevilla, then according to the leading Brazilian journalist, the chance is ’80 percent’ of Mourinho’s employment in Paris.

It has been known since the beginning of May that PSG is betting on Mourinho as a new trainer. The Qatari owners crave a first title in the Champions League and are therefore betting on a proven prize-winner. The arrival of Pep Guardiola is an ‘impossible dream’. As manager of Manchester City, the Catalan has a relationship with the United Arab Emirates, where the club owner comes from.

Mourinho won the Champions League twice and is therefore the most successful coach behind Zinedine Zidane (three), Bob Paisley (three) and Carlo Ancelotti (four). On Wednesday, Mourinho hopes to win the Europa League for the second time, after the previous win with Manchester United in 2017. If AS Roma manage to beat Sevilla, Mourinho will have come full circle and will move to PSG, so insures PVC. Last year, the Portuguese coach already seized the Conference League, Roma’s first European prize since 1961.

The arrival of Mourinho would mean for Christophe Galtier that his employment with PSG is over after just one year. “Personally, I think I deserve to stay,” Galtier said a few days ago. “Because I gave everything this season and put a lot of energy into it. We knew how to stay on track in very difficult moments, whether it was on a personal level or professionally.” Galtier led PSG to the league title, but that is not nearly enough to satisfy the club management.
