Pablo Rosario did not travel with the PSV selection to Istanbul for the return match against Galatasaray in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. The selection boarded the plane on Monday, but the midfielder was missing. Rosario has agreed with OGC Nice about a transfer, but both clubs have not yet reached an agreement on a transfer fee. In addition, Mohamed Ihattaren was also left at home by trainer Roger Schmidt, as the midfielder is still ill. PSV defends a 5-1 lead in Istanbul on Wednesday and is therefore with one and a half legs in the third preliminary round.

Sunday evening it reported Eindhovens Dagblad that Nice has made an offer of four million euros for Rosario. However, technical manager John de Jong is betting on a higher transfer fee and wants to keep a ‘market-based amount’ from the transfer. The single the Dutch international was still ‘just’ on the training field at PSV on Sunday and still has a contract until mid-2023.

Rosario can become the third Dutchman in a short time to join Nice. The number nine of the past Ligue 1 season transferred fifteen million euros to AZ for Calvin Stengs this summer, while Justin Kluivert joined the club on a rental basis and can be taken over from AS Roma through an option to buy for ten million euros. Jean-Clair Todibo came over from Barcelona for eight million euros.

If Rosario is sold, PSV will go according to The Telegraph into the transfer market to bring in a replacement. PSV want to keep the midfield as strong as it is now. For the defensive positions in his midfield, trainer Roger Schmidt also has Érick Gutiérrez, Ryan Thomas, Marco van Ginkel, Davy Pröpper and Ibrahim Sangaré at his disposal.

Full PSV squad: Teze, Viergever, Ramalho, Sangaré, Zahavi, Van Ginkel, Gakpo, Müller, Pröpper, Drommel, Mauro Jr., Bruma, Madueke, Obispo, Götze, Boscagli, Mwene, Max, Oppegard, Mvogo, Vertessen Fofana.
