Atlético Madrid recorded its fourth league victory of the season on Thursday. Los Colchoneros had a tough time with Osasuna, but ultimately triumphed 0-2. However, the goal was not deserved. Jan Oblak had already defused several chances for the home team and continued to be put to work. For example, the Slovenian goalkeeper had to intervene on Ante Budimor’s header and saw Johan Mojica’s attempt hit the post. Atlético, in turn, barely managed to get through.
It was a matter of stopping the Madrid team, which they succeeded in doing until the final whistle. That happened with more luck than wisdom: Munuera disallowed an apparently valid goal due to a ‘foul’ on Axel Witsel. Riquelme then made it 0-2 at the other end. In the final phase, emotions ran high: Osasuna manager Jagoba Arrasate was sent off for protesting, while Ezequiel Ávila (immediately red) and Álvaro Morata (second yellow) were sent off the field in a mutual disturbance.
