Kylian Mbappé has again been substituted early at Paris Saint-Germain. The French superstar was taken off after 65 minutes against Stade Rennes last round and was left behind in the dressing rooms at half-time against AS Monaco (0-0) on Friday. It appears that there was no injury, although that is not yet certain. After the break, Mbappé did not return to the bench. After taking a few selfies with fans, he took a seat in the stands, where his family was sitting. PSG is still twelve points ahead in Ligue 1, Monaco follows thirteen points away in third place.

So Mbappé did start the kick-off in the Principality. The 2018 world champion formed the attack with Marco Asensio and Gonçalo Ramos. At Monaco, Wissam Ben Yedder and Folarin Balogun had to ensure the goals.

It was Monaco that had the most good chances to take the lead in the first half. For example, Gianluigi Donnarumma had to respond to a shot from Balogun. Not much later, the Italian giant also had an answer to an attempt by Takumi Minamino, who tried with a curled shot.

Not much later, Ben Yedder still thought he would make it 1-0, if his goal had not been disallowed for offside. PSG were quite disappointing and got away again just before the half-time signal, when Ben Yedder shot just wide on a pass from Balogun. In injury time of the first half, Maghnes Akliouche was also unable to pass Donnarumma.

Mbappé remained behind in the changing rooms. It is unclear what Luis Enrique's precise motivations were. The outgoing star player was recently brought into the side early, although he did suffer a knock in the first half against Monaco. However, everything indicates that Mbappé has little or nothing wrong with him.

Shortly after the restart, Monaco claimed a penalty after an alleged handball by Manuel Ugarte. However, that turned out not to be the case. Monaco were the better team at the start of the second half and could have rewarded themselves through Folarin Balogun, who did too little with the space on offer and shot at a Parisian defender. On the other hand, Vitinha caused PSG's first danger after the break. His shot narrowly flew over.

PSG managed to do little, although things broke out dangerously here and there. Bradley Barcola, who came on well, was unable to finish. Radoslaw Majecki made an excellent save on a shot from the top talent. Vitinha came close in the future, but Majecki was not in the way again.
