Mats Seuntjens will start working at FC Utrecht after this season, it reports General Journal wednesday night. The 31-year-old attacker annex midfielder is about to sign a two-year contract in the Domstad, reliable sources have informed the newspaper. The medical examination must still take place this week. Seuntjens is seen in Utrecht as the successor to Taylor Booth, who is in the interest of various clubs.

This season, Seuntjens, together with Michiel Kramer and others, has developed into a taste maker for the Waalwijkers. The team from North Brabant attracted the technician on a free transfer last winter, after he had his contract with Fortuna Sittard dissolved. Seuntjens made an impression from his first match in the Mandemakers Stadium. To date, he has made seventeen appearances for RKC, scoring four goals and eight assists.

The departure of Seuntjens should not be called a big surprise. The born Bredanaar came to be on the radar of various clubs due to his good performances. After the 4-1 win against FC Volendam on Friday, Seuntjens already hinted that he was working on his last matches for RKC. FC Twente in particular seemed to be a serious contender for his signature, but the Tukkers are therefore fishing behind the net.

In addition to Twente, AZ has also shown explicit interest. Seuntjens already played 110 games for the Alkmaarders in the past, but there is no renewed collaboration. Seuntjens has indicated that his preference lies with FC Utrecht. There seems to be little left of the successful team of RKC. In addition to Seuntjens, trainer Joseph Oosting (FC Twente) is also leaving, probably taking his assistants Peter Uneken and Sander Duitsland with him. It was also announced earlier that Saïd Bakari and Pelle Clement will be active for Sparta Rotterdam after this season.
