Burkina Faso has qualified for the semi-finals of the Africa Cup on Saturday evening. In the quarterfinals, the team of national coach Kamou Malo was just too strong for Tunisia: 1-0. The absolute leading role was played by Dango Ouattara, who scored the only goal of the game and was sent off with a red card. The winger will have to miss the semi-final, against Senegal or Equatorial Guinea, and possibly also the final.
The spectators in the Stade Omnisport Roumdé Adjia were presented with a mostly mediocre first half. The first serious opportunity was created by Tunisia only halfway through the first company. Wahbi Khazri had a free kick in the house and caused goalkeeper Herve Koffi emphatically in trouble, but the closing post barely managed to process the attempt into a corner. Although Burkino Faso was the parent, the first opportunity for the country did not arise until the fortieth minute of play. Ouattara tried his luck with a shot from the edge of the box; goalkeeper Bechir Ben Said acted, however.

On the stroke of the halftime signal, the left winger of Burkina Faso was still hit. After a nice deep pass from Blati Touré, Ouattara rushed in, cut out the enemy defense and coolly shot in the 1-0. In the second half, the scorer again played a leading role. This time in a negative way, as, after watching the video footage, he was sent off with a direct red card for an elbow strike. Tunisia then went in search of the equalizer, which, however, was not found.
