England is under the spell of the masked rapper DIDE, who claims to be active as a football player in the Premier League. Last weekend, the masked rapper released the song ‘Thrill’ on YouTube, but so far it is still unclear which football player is involved. On the internet, however, people think they already know: several football fans are guessing that Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is behind the mystery. There are therefore several indications for this.

In the video clip ‘Thrill’, DIDE continuously hides his face behind a rose mask, which is very reminiscent of the popular television program ‘The Masked Singer’. On the internet, the masked rapper receives many compliments about the content of the song, but theories about who is behind the mystery still prevail. On the YouTube channel you can read that DIDE is active in the Premier League: ‘Premier League footballer storms the British music scene with freestyle video’.

‘Thrill’ is the first official song released by the masked rapper. The song went online a week ago and has already reached 727,000 views on YouTube. In the song DIDE suggests several times that he is a football player with lyrics such as ‘my team keeps winning’ and ‘every match is a final’. In addition, DIDE raps that newspapers might wonder ‘what baller is this’. The publicity stunt seems to be working, as football fans are under the spell of the masked rapper on social media.

Nketiah scored nine times in 33 official games for Arsenal this season.

Nketiah
Arsenal’s reserve striker Nketiah has been most frequently cited as a possible face behind the mask. The video clip was shot in London, which makes the suspicions a lot more logical. The football fans also think that DIDE is an anagram of Nketiah’s first name Eddie. The lyrics in the song ‘Thrill’ also connect to the hunt of the Gunners on the first national title in nineteen years. Finally, in the song, DIDE refers to his 23rd year of life, Nketiah’s age. The striker was injured for a long time, but made his comeback last Sunday during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United.
